This program opens with the famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor by J.S. Bach orchestrated by legendary conductor Leopold Stokowski. Our fantastic Principal Trombonist, Jim Albrecht, will be the featured soloist for Bert Appermont’s Colors for Trombone, an imaginative piece that explores the wide color palette of the solo trombone. The program will conclude with a side-by-side performance featuring our amazing Reno Phil Youth Symphony Orchestra in a side-by-side performance of Camille Saint-Saëns’ “Organ Symphony.” The Symphony No. 3 features a grand final movement showcasing its namesake instrument.
