Known for her dynamic presence on the podium and her “splendid and confident” (San Francisco Classical Voice) conducting, Laura Jackson leads the Royal Conservatory Orchestra in a powerful season-opening program.

Jackson, Music Director of the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, is praised for her innovation, passion, and commitment to the continued growth of the symphonic repertoire and expanding music’s impact within communities. A 21st century conductor at home with repertoire from every era, Jackson is recognized for her championing of new music, her creativity with commissions, and her commitment to mentoring and encouraging the next generation of musicians, composers, and women conductors.

Part of the Temerty Orchestral Program at The Glenn Gould School (GGS), the Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO) is widely regarded as an outstanding ensemble and one of the best training orchestras in North America. It consists of instrumental students in the undergraduate and graduate programs of The Glenn Gould School. Graduates of the RCO have joined the ranks of the greatest orchestras in the world.

Please join us! This concert is preceded by a short performance by talented students of The Royal Conservatory. Prelude Recital starts at 6:45pm.
